Selected works on paper

I started making stenciled works in 2021. The first one came from an obsession with calendars and marking time, and I made the paint using cochineal. Other associations followed, ranging from tree bark to objects laid out on a surface. Colorwise, I often start with the elemental ochre and then add different pigments to shift it. The works in →this exhibition← demonstrate how the small works have been fruitful for larger ones in the studio. I added a throwback drawing here that now looks like an underlying structure.
